My parents were not well-educated, but they always wanted me to be a kind-hearted person.
The kinship I feel towards the University stems from a personal tragedy. In 2004, during my final year of undergraduate studies, my father suddenly passed away. It was a devastating moment for my family and me.
From the professors to my classmates and peers, everyone came to our aid. A fellow classmate even helped me draft a letter to the University to request assistance through the emergency grant. I will always be grateful for how much HKUST supported my family during our difficult time.
HKUST will always be our home. To cultivate a community of kindness and gratitude, I invite you all to be a donor, and I will send you a personalized pin.
